Privacy Policy
Last updated August 17, 2026
Babelcraft is built to run entirely on your own iPhone. It has no backend of its own — there is no server of ours receiving, relaying, or logging your flashcards, your review history, or your study activity. This policy explains what that means for your data.
The short version
- Babelcraft has no account system and no server of ours in the request path for your flashcards or review history.
- Your deck, progress, and settings are stored on your device first, and work fully offline.
- Sync across your devices happens only through your own iCloud account, using Apple's infrastructure — not ours.
- Babelcraft contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers of any kind.
Information we collect
None. We do not operate any servers that receive, log, or process your flashcards, your review history, or your usage of the app. The app does not ask for your name, email address, or any account credentials of ours.
Text-to-speech
Word and example-sentence pronunciation is generated on-device using iOS's own text-to-speech voices. No audio, text, or usage data is sent anywhere to produce it.
iCloud sync
If you're signed into iCloud, your flashcards and review history sync across your devices using Apple's CloudKit, in your own private database. This data is stored in your own iCloud account, governed by Apple's own privacy policy — Babelcraft has no separate copy of it and no server-side access to it. If iCloud isn't available, the app falls back to a local-only store automatically.
Information stored on your device
Your flashcards, review history, app preferences, and course selection are stored locally on your device (and, if enabled, synced via your own iCloud account as described above). None of it is transmitted to us, because Babelcraft has nowhere of ours to send it.
Third parties
Babelcraft does not integrate with any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting service of our own. It makes no network requests to servers of ours at all — the only network activity is Apple's own iCloud sync, if you have it enabled.
Children's privacy
Babelcraft is a general-purpose language-learning utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because it operates no server that collects information at all.
Deleting your data
Deleting a card or resetting progress in the app removes it locally and from your iCloud sync immediately. Uninstalling Babelcraft removes the app and its local data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Since Babelcraft doesn't collect contact information, we're not able to notify you directly — check back here if you'd like to stay current.
